Job Description:

Seneca Holdings is looking to hire an HR Generalist to support our corporate office in Chantilly ,VA. 


The Human Resource Generalist at Seneca Holdings will report to the Human Resources Manager, this position centers around understanding what people need and knowing how to provide it. The HR Generalist will have both administrative and some strategic responsibilities in helping the department plan and administer important functions, such as benefits administration, training and development, and employee relations. This position will also provide backup support to the HRIS specialist.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Fully manage open enrollment processes
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications when needed.
  • Support delivering new hire orientation and recognition program.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS talent management systems.
 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one to two years of human resource generalist experience preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
