The Assistant Event Planner will support event planning for a large Government contract, supporting events ranging from 18 to 250 people. The hours for this role will vary per week, but will average 10 to 20 hours per week. 

Typical tasks will include:
  • Setting up or customizing commercial registration portals such as Eventbrite or Constant Contact
  • Supporting administrative tasks such as composing and following up on event-related communication
  • Formatting event-related materials such as agendas, PowerPoint slide decks
  • Creating name badges, tents, etc in Microsoft Word or other programs
  • Communicating with event attendees (US and non-US based)
  • Coordinating travel bookings for event attendees
  • Performing research to support building cost estimates for event-related expenses (facilities, food and beverage, lodging, travel, etc)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 to 3 years of administrative experience
  • HS diploma
  • 2 to 3 years of events planning experience preferred

Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills
  • A focus on outstanding customer service
  • Comfortable with technology
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Flexibility with work hours, as some communication with event attendees may need to occur in the evenings or weekends
