The position of Data Analyst is a vital role in the CHESS office. The mission of CHESS is to serve as the Army's primary source for IT computer hardware, software and services. The position of Data Analyst will support all CHESS initiatives and provide direct support to the technical director and senior leadership.

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are no limited to:

 

  • Take raw data exports from the technical team and analyze, interpret and display the data in different formats such as graphs, projections and PowerPoint slides
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze technical guidance and policy from many forums, both internal and external.
  • Work with Technical Director to enhance and make suggestions for improvement to the CHESS data strategy
  • Work with the client to evaluate where the technical guidance and policy needs to be applied to CHESS business processes
  • Assist in implementation of processes and/or procedures requiring technical and business understanding
  • Evaluate contract scope and product specifications across multiple contracts and ensure they are aligned to Army and/or DoD guidelines, policies, and expectations
  • Work with technical team to help interpret and present raw data in a meaningful way for product owners.
  • Work with the technical director and their staff to understand and advise on structuring and delivering data to ensure the best conditions for analysis, including the gathering and documenting of potential new requirements
  • Provide recommendations on the structure and collection of data, as well as tools and software necessary for data strategy and analytics
  • Assist in building and maintaining partnership between CHESS and stakeholders such as NETCOM, ISEC, ARCYBER, Army CIO and others


Qualification Requirements:
 

  • Active Secret security clearance required
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with Math, Data Science, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience with Data Analysis
  • 5 years in an administrative, communication or customer service environment.
  • Experience supporting a DoD and/or Army environment
  • Understanding of data architecture
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to work with Excel, Tableau, SAS, SQL and/or other database environments
  • Ability to organize and maintain large amounts of data and information
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Someone who is committed to ongoing learning and professional growth
  • Experience presenting data analysis to large audiences
  • Must have extensive knowledge of MS Office and the ability to quickly learn new programs
